454 Heavenly Light (or Eden)
Zion, awake! thy strength renew, Put on thy robes of beauteous hue; Church of our God, arise and shine, Bright with the beams of truth divine. Soon shall thy radiance beam afar, Wide as the heathen nations are; Gentiles and kings thy light shall view, And shall admire and love thee too. Their streaming eyes together flow, For human guilt and human woe; Their ardent pray'rs together rise, Like mingling flames in sacrifice. Nor shall the sacred flames expire When nature drops her warning fire; Then shall they meet in realms above, A heav'n of joy because of love. |
