The grand highway is free from ev'ry sin, No unclean thing shall ever enter in, God's holy light makes fair as the bright noon day; If you have started on this blessed route, Don't let old Satan turn your face about, Keep straight ahead, don't turn from the grand highway. Chorus: The lame shall walk, the dumb shall talk, The blind, the deaf shall see and hear again, The wilderness with waters shall abound, A cooling stream in the desert shall be found. That all may see the glory of the Lord, The excellency of our living God. It shall be called the way of holiness, Wayfaring souls in it are ever blest, It is so plain that none should be led astray, No rav'nous beast or lion shall be there, Redeemed ones walk in paths forever fair, Keep straight ahead, don't turn from the grand highway. (Chorus) The ransomed of Jehovah shall return, If they for Zion's lasting pleasures yearn, Joy will be found when they to His will obey; All sorrow and all sighing then will flee, This grand highway a holy way shall be, Keep straight ahead, don't turn from the grand highway. (Chorus)
